Doctor's day - Dr. B.C. Roy (Bidhan chandra Roy) was born on july 1st, 1882 in patna,Bihar. He exhibited immense dedication and hard work in the field of medicine. He established several medical institutes to cater to all types of patients. On recognizing his contributions in the field of medicine, the nation honored Dr. Roy with the Bharat Ratna on Feb.4th,1961.
Dr. Roy died on july 1st,1962.
Thereafter the indian government instituted B.C. Roy National Award in the areas of medicine, politics, philosophy, literature and arts. .......
