SUKSHMA AUSHADI KALPANA NIRMANA A PHARMACEUTICAL APROCH WITH HISTORY

Sukshma Aushadhi Kalapana- Manufacturing Process
Sukshma Aushadhi Kalapana is a incorporation of technique in the field of Ayurveda by the Late Vaidya Panchanan Ganagadhar Shastri Gune( Ahmednagar).
In the beginning of 20th century late vaidya has seen this is very effective for all the herbomineral preparation. Mainly for those who contain heavy metal, precious metals like mercury, arsenic, gold, silver, lead etc.
It is very simple for the preparation. I am giving here an example which I m using in my practice. 1 gm vasant kusumakar is taken and 1 gm of lactose sugar is added to it then both are triturated in the mortar and pestle for 2 hrs. After homogeneous mixture again 9 times of the material lactose sugar (i.e. 18 gm) is taken and triturated in the mortar and pestle for 2 to 3 hrs it is called as Pratham Sanskarana. Again 9 times of the mixture lactose sugar( i. e. 180 gm) is taken and trituarated for 2 to 3 hrs. total mixture is 200 gms it is called as Dwitiya Sanskarana. This Aushadi is called as Sukshma Aushdhi Kalpana. Some Vaidyas Gives only Prathama Sanakarana and uses as medicine.--- Vd. Sanjay Khedekar
The dose used for herbo mineral preparation is generally in classics is 1 to 2 ratti that is 120 to 240 mg. But in practice it is just 20 to 50 mg is given due to risk of toxicity. Due to this Sukshmikarana we can give it in the 120 to 250 mg for tds dose. Another benefit is about dose some medicine are toxic if they are given in larger dose e. g. Mallasindoora in 120 mg bd dose may cause toxicity. Here we give the patient just 1 to 2 mg of Mallasindoora. As there is medicine in this preparation is only 1 to 5 mg so we can easily give it to patient. As Ayurvedic herbomineral preparations are too much costly so here we can provide medicine to the patient in less paid. One thing I have seen in my practice is that the results of the medicine is same though it is given in the less amount.
