AGNIKARMA IN GRADHRASI

There are two views of agnikarma in gridhrasi.. one view holds that the point of maximum tenderness and another classical view is that the area near ankle joint should be burnt.
The choice of shalaka is also bit confusing.. Some prefer loha shalaka and some others , panchaloha shalaka, or swarna shalaka. The exact indication of the choice of metal is not clear in the classics. The shape of shalaka available in the ayurvedic shops resembles kutharika yantra with sharp pointed edge, if it is used there is high chances of eroding the muscle or ligament. We use a shalaka with a blunt tip of the size 4mm width for ruksha agni karma......
