ओजः पुनः madhur स्वभावं, तद यदा रौक्ष्यात वायुह कशायात्वने अभिसंसृज्य मूत्राश्ये अभिवाहती तदा मधुमेहम karoti cha.
Ojus by nature is of sweet taste. When due to roughness vata converts it into astringent taste and takes it into the urinary bladder, due to its roughness, this causes madhumeha.
चरक निदान 4/३७-४४
To understand madhumeh in ayurvedic terms this statement needs to be elaborated more.
In charak nidaan 4/37, and sutra 17/78-82, two types of pathologies of madhumeh are decribed, both of the them ultmately leads to the above stated result, in which it is said that urine taste is changed to astringent-sweet.
i humbly request to all the worthy members to further elaborate this.
