This is a very interesting incident (real) which happened in Banaras (Varanasi) long time back. I am sharing this incident to all of my friends because I observe so many doctors who are enrolled on this web site doing their private practice. It is altogether a different ball game which requires knowledge; skillful handling of the patients, ability to deal with masses and last but not the least is the ability to maintain your popularity, which is very difficult. I personally feel whenever you open a clinic in a new place people want to give a chance to you, once they establish, that you are worthy, they keep coming to you, after sometime incumbency factor will come in to picture and some other new doctor In your area will decrease your OPD strength. read the incident for simple logic. Do we have the guts?
So coming to the incident, a patient of 60 yrs old(male) admitted by his two sons in ayurvedic hospital (at Banaras Hindu University) with the compliant of bloating of abdomen, vomiting, passing sticky stool followed by constipation , severe cramping pain in the abdomen. He was diagnosed with intestinal obstruction and posted for operation. But the anesthetist refused to give anesthesia as the patient condition was grave and hemoglobin was very less......
