The Octad Of Milk

105-106. Now, we shall describe the milks, their action and properties. The milk of the sheep, the goat, the cow, the buffalo, the camel, the elephant, the mare and the woman are the eight principal varieties of milk.

107-109. Milk is said to be generally sweet, unctuous, cooling, galactogogue, pleasing , roborant, aphrodisiac, brain tonic, strengthening, exhilarating, vitalizing, refreshing, curative of dysponea, cough and hemothermia, a synthesizer in injures, wholesome to all living creatures, sedative, purificative, adipsous, digestive and the most beneficial in emaciation due to pectoral lesions....
