All of us know that Acharya susruta had given utmost importance to vrana and its management. He was very particular in adapting specific treatments to the specific condition of Vrana. In this case study I just want to emphasize on the importance of dressing.
Few months back One of my staff members got injured his leg while going home (according to him…it was happened due to a thorn prick) after one day it had swollen he felt severe pain (left leg)...He came to me …..and the junior doctor gave him some medications ( I think he gave some guggulu preparations and vedantak ras etc)
After one day he developed fever and became restless the foot swollen further...He was taken to the safdarjung Hospital causality where it was diagnosed as cellulitis and advised some antibiotics (including injectables).
He went home and was taking their medications (antibiotics and pain killers) but the conditioned got worsened after 2 days swelling kept on increasing day by day.. so he again went there for check up. they simply advised to continue the same medications for one week .
He again came home and after 2 days when further worsened .he went to AIIMS where the doctors diagnosed it gain as cellulitis and informed his relatives that the conditioned has to be tackled well and advised them to admit the patient immediately.......
